Two patients in our care stopped having nightmares about their deceased children after a prolonged dream state induced by anesthesia. https://t.co/qdxONbYNXo @APAPubJournals, with @drpuppychow@PilleriinSikka et al.
Finally Symposia 18 "Novel tools and recent advances in the role of brain mu-opioid receptors in rewarding and aversive effects of drugs" is chaired by Jennifer Bossert, with talks by Emmanuel Darq, Jennifer Bossert, Marjorie Levinstein and @jorgh82
Are you a ketamine (research) lover? Do not miss the next speaker in our conferences' cycles in the Medical School. Dr. Bonaventura will talk about ketamine in the context of psychiatric disorders and some current controversies. @UBneuroscience@SENC_
New lab paper led by 1st author @eventrig (an exceptional NIDA Postbac currently applying to PhD programs) in collabo with @jorgh82. Brain exposure of opioids is a critical but somewhat neglected area of research with important mechanistic & human therapeutic implications.
Excited for my 1st postdoc paper! While [18F]FE-DPN and [3H]DPN are thought of as non-selective opioid radiotracers, they preferentially bind to mu opioid receptors in vivo. Thanks to @mikelides@jorgh82@JLGomezPhD @eventrig @reecebudinich@cazaratejr

@keck_lab Indeed, although in this case it would take several metabolic steps back (some reports say norketamine is active though..). Stranger things happen in pharmacology!
After several years and considerable ($$$) investment we could not find/validate any single/unique target for (2R,6R)-hydroxynorketamine: an elusive search https://t.co/FuFHn19844
@keck_lab That is an interesting question since HNK would be normally be considered ‘end of route’ after desmethylation and hydroxylation of ketamine. Are you suggesting back-metabolism to the parent compound?
