🎉 Today marks National Bison Day, honoring the resilience, significance, and conservation efforts of bison across the country. At the heart of this celebration is the collaboration between the InterTribal Buffalo Council and Grand Canyon National Park, preserving the bison's cultural importance in Indigenous cultures.
🌟 The InterTribal Buffalo Council champions the restoration of bison across tribal lands, reflecting the deep cultural ties of Native American communities to these iconic animals. Through their stewardship, they're not just conserving wildlife but preserving traditions and heritage. @ITBCBuffNation
🏞️ The National Park Service is reducing the size of the overpopulated Kaibab Plateau bison herd on the North Rim. Grand Canyon National Park is reducing the size in order to protect park resources—including vegetation, water, archaeological sites and traditional cultural places.
The bison that are removed are transferred by the InterTribal Buffalo Council to tribes across the country. This past September, 100 bison were transferred to the Intertribal Buffalo Council, which transported them to the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe in South Dakota. Details: https://t.co/t7pZGdUYkL

@mgsiegler Why should anyone trust his intention? I understand his pitch sounds better for society but no one should believe he truly cares about that more than how the strategy will somehow benefit himself // Meta. Maybe both are possible but he's abused his influence forever.
Chicago is a fascinating city - superb restaurants, great art and architecture and wonderful places to drink wine. Here are eight of them. https://t.co/HinBfW8jBg

Today in 2016, the Chicago Cubs played their first home game for a World Series in 71 years. They went on to win the series. Image taken on this day 7 years ago.
For all the work @finkd and @Meta do to convince businesses to build on their platform, its remarkable how awful and debilitating their customer support is when a company's accounts get hacked. Worst customer service in business history.
Because this platform no longer shows news headlines, today I found myself searching Google News instead of searching Twitter for news about breaking events, for the first time in many years.
Happy National Public Lands Day! To celebrate, entrance fees are waived across the country today.
Whether you spend the day exploring your public lands or volunteering at one, thank you for your love and support of these inspiring places.
