The Elizabeth line cost £67,000 per London commuter. The borders railway was £100,000 per Edinburgh commuter. EWR would be £4million per Cambridge commuter. Why on earth are they still working on this project?

By the end of this financial year EWR will have spent £446million just planning Bletchley to Cambridge and they still can’t explain the business case - beyond saying that some really important people think it’s a good idea.

Ed Miliband has approved 3 enormous solar power farms in:

1. East Cambridgeshire and West Suffolk
2. Mallard Pass Solar Farm in Lincolnshire
3. The Gate Burton Energy Park in Lincolnshire

All 3 approvals disregard community concerns & loss of prime farmland & food security.

This beautiful farmland in Bedfordshire is at risk of turning into a gigantic solar farm - with 1,900 acres of countryside being plastered with solar panels. The site is larger than 1,000 football pitches. This is grotesquely wrong on so many levels.

Considering on the Sunnica decision and other recent announcements, it being approved would seem pretty much a certainty. (2)

I’ve been banging this drum for years. There is no excuse for artificially low cap on medical school places unless it’s a political decision to stifle supply to get higher wages. The BMA should not have this power, no other union can control how many people train in a profession.

Central government interest in EWR to Cambridge began with the OxCam Arc. That was dropped in 2022 in favour of Cambridge 2050, which now also seems dead. It would be crazy if Labour decided to take it forward without a new housing/economic plan . @LouHaigh @RachelReevesMP
