The Federation takes its members silence and despondency as support.

It infers that their continued payment of subscriptions, gifting the organisation over £40m a year, is a sign that, on the whole, the membership are happy with the service they are forced to accept.

This quote from the attached article is proof, if it were needed, that those in charge will actively rely on and use the memberships silence to bolster its position to dismiss genuine concerns about how the organisation operates…

“A spokesman for PFEW dismissed the group’s claims and said the federation was facing up to the failings of the past and “working hard to change and become an organisation focused exclusively on the interests of its members”.
He called its claims about the CEO “unsupported… tropes” and said “the overwhelming majority” of members support the federation’s current direction.”

The Federation isn’t going to change. There’s currently no incentive or imperative for it to do so, so long as the majority of its membership stay silent and disengaged. The Federations own review panel have said as much warning that the “failings of the past could happen again…”

If you want change to happen, then you have to make it happen. It starts with a simple e-mail to your local branch chair, attaching our paper and making it clear that you are not happy with the status quo and that you want to #BreakTheMonopoly

@TJFnow @rybocop240 I disagree! Residential course isn’t necessary 🤷🏼‍♀️. If you go on any course now you get the choice to be residential or not. You all get same training during course day, going home makes no difference! Oh apart from going to the copper lounge!
