we, as a society, have fallen out of love with the process. everyone wants the reward, but nobody wants to bleed for it. you have to become addicted to the daily, unglamorous work of stacking bricks. you cannot bypass the ungodly toll it takes to become undeniable. fall in love with the relentless pursuit.
be disgustingly relentless. demand a level of output from your own body that makes the average person want to throw up. let them live in the shallow end. go drown yourself in the work. become a totally alien species fueled entirely by the violent refusal to be ordinary.
paint the world. stand unapologetically in your own skin and let your fire burn loud. wring out your blood, sweat, and tears until the mark you leave is impossible to wash away. chase everything you ever dreamed of and more, running at it like a madman completely consumed by the pursuit. smash your true self into every single day until you leave absolutely zero doubt. live relentless.
if you can imagine yourself achieving it easily, dream bigger. if your five year plan feels doable, extend it, complicate it, add a zero - the whole point is to strive for something so far beyond your current capabilities that you have to build entirely new versions of yourself just to survive the pursuit. dream bigger and attack it daily
your relationship with yourself cannot be built entirely around improvement. at some point, you have to become someone you are allowed to enjoy being. you get to be proud of who you are. present tense
document your life, your future self will thank you. take pictures , videos, write in your journal , leave behind your creativity in ur art, scrapbook , take notes… all of these little details will be so important later.
I think one of the nicest parts of growing older is becoming less concerned with what a good life should look like and more attentive to what a good life feels like to me.
deconstruct the desire to be seen only under the perfect conditions.. your essence is actually more prominent against circumstances that are not ideal.
I saw a post on Reddit that said, “When you walk through a museum, you’re not just looking at art. You’re moving through centuries of people trying to explain love, grief, power, beauty, and belonging.” I don’t think I’ve ever seen a museum described so beautifully.
