There is something strange about Portugal's relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo. For more than two decades, we have demanded the impossible from him. And, almost unbelievably, he often delivered it. Now, as the years pass and football reminds us that no one can defeat time, many seem to have chosen to forget.

They have forgotten who permanently put Portugal on the world football map. They have forgotten who transformed a talented national team into one that was respected and feared. They have forgotten who broke record after record, who wore the Portugal shirt hundreds of times, and who was present in moments of glory as well as moments of pain.

Cristiano Ronaldo is not perfect. No athlete is perfect. No human being is perfect. But the ease with which some people try to reduce his career to a missed penalty, a poor performance, or a disappointing result says more about our collective memory than it does about the player himself.

Football has a simple truth: no one wins alone. When Portugal won, the coaches, teammates, staff, administrators, and, of course, the players on the pitch all won together. But if no one wins alone, then no one draws alone either, and no one loses alone.

Nuno Mendes is now the best LB in the world and top 10 Ballon d’Or. Achraf Hakimi became the best RB and best African player. Donnarumma become the best GK and top 10 Ballon d’Or. Jude Bellingham who had 35 G/A is now on a 9-game run without a goal or assist, sitting on 10 G/A this season. Rodrygo forgets how to play and keeps getting injured. Camavinga became the worst thing to happen to Madrid. Brahim Díaz is nowhere to be found. Tchouaméni looks like the worst DM ever. Defense is a mess. Two trophyless seasons. Humiliated by big clubs. Four Madrid players were in Ballon d’Or top 10 before he joined, last year he’s the only one there. Vinícius out shouts started.Bellingham out shouts started. Valverde out talks started. Rodrygo out campaigns everywhere, the same year he joined. From unbeaten UCL winners to getting embarrassed. 100% egos now. Two coaches sacked since he joined, Álvaro Arbeloa has no hope. Vinicius está siendo una mierda pero por alguna casualidad cuando Mbappe no estaba era el mejor jugador del mundo, los meses pasados fue uno de los mejores y salía a gol por partido sin Mbappe, vuelve Mbappe y falla ocasiones.

Bellingham está siendo una mierda pero por alguna casualidad cuando no estaba Mbappe estaba siendo el mejor mediocampista del mundo en la conversación para el balón de oro.

Valverde ahorita está pasando desapercibido otra vez pero por alguna razón hace semanas cuando no estaba Mbappe estaba saliendo a Gol por partido y dando el mejor nivel de su carrera.

Dembele estaba metiendo 5 goles por temporada pero se fue Mbappe y empezó a meter 30 y ganó el balón de oro,

El Real Madrid en 14 años entre el 2010 y 2024 había fallado en llegar a semifinales de Champions solamente en 2, llegó Mbappe y llevamos 2 años consecutivos sin llegar a semifinales.

El PSG no había ganado la Champions, primer año sin Mbappe y ganan la Champions.
