Backed by federal might and an entire political establishment against one man, they still lost.

These are the same governors @officialABAT is depending on to win all 36 states plus the FCT.

The solution is simple: high voter turnout. Follow the votes from the polling units through the collation centres all the way to Abuja. No sleep!

This is the only realistic posture for 2027. IREV remains window-dressing until it is tested under real pressure and proven reliable. Until then, treat the process as fully manual — the way it was in 2003.
Arrive early. Stay for 48–72 hours if necessary. Watch every ballot cast, every tally, every entry. 160 cannot magically become zero. Cancel unused ballots properly. Never let the ballot box or result sheet leave your sight from polling unit → ward → LGA → state → Abuja.
Send people to Abuja to monitor the national collation point as well.
This election must become personal. Voting without waiting to see your result entered is incomplete.
And to those who think violence is still an option: the old days of impunity are over. Families should call their people to order now.

His reaffirmation of support for President Bola Tinubu (@officialABAT) for 2027 is a separate political calculation. Adeleke has framed it as regional solidarity—Tinubu as a Yoruba/South-West figure whose ongoing federal projects (especially roads) he wants sustained—rather than a formal deal. He has also said he would campaign actively if asked.
Whether that endorsement helps or hurts Adeleke’s longer-term standing depends on how the next 18 months unfold: Tinubu’s performance, the economic and security picture, and how Osun voters read the alignment. Cross-party or regional endorsements are common in Nigerian politics, but they carry risks if the president’s popularity declines or if state-level grievances (local government control, resource allocation, etc.) sharpen.
Your view that he should keep clearer distance is a legitimate political judgment. Adeleke has already secured a second term on the Accord platform; he does not need the 2027 presidential race to validate his own mandate. Keeping options open, or at least avoiding early, high-profile commitment, is one way governors sometimes preserve flexibility.

Ademola Jackson Adeleke's re-election as the Governor-elect of Osun State on 15 August 2026 is an indication that, as a people, if we vote and protect our votes, neither INEC nor the ruling party will have the ability to manipulate the outcome. The Osun State election is a win-win situation for Nigeria and a significant victory for democracy at large.
