"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured...the first thought forbidden...the first freedom denied – chains us all, irrevocably."
As we celebrate our nation's independence this weekend, it is worth remembering that this revolution wasn't fought only to free ourselves from Great Britain, but it was a revolution to proclaim that this nation in a new world would be one rooted in the principles of liberty and equality under the law. That all people are created equal and should therefore be treated as such before the government. And that government should be restrained from invading the peaceful lives of individuals.
I pause here to say that I recognize how imperfect that application of liberty was in our founding. Slavery and the lack of agency and freedom for women are areas of imperfect liberty made better through the struggle and suffering and diligence of untold millions.
But as we celebrate our nation's independence, we celebrate moving away from titles of nobility granted by blood and instead founded a nation that looks to merit and hard work as designations of nobility. That anyone, from anywhere, can come to this land and make themselves better through their hard work is the true sign of American greatness. It is the true genius of our founder's design for a nation.
As we gather round with familiy and friends for BBQ and fireworks, think about the incredible courage of those who fought to free our nation from the notions of an old world to make a bright new one founded in liberty. Think about the millions who followed to make this a more perfect union. And think about the work that is still unfinished to fulfill the promise of our declaration of independence.
I am a proud American, and a constant skeptic of our government.
Just as the founders intended.
Happy Independence Day weekend.
Peace, Love, and Liberty,
Chase
If you can accept him lying to your face like this and still make excuses, you were never opposed to the policy of preemptive regime change wars to begin with.
You were never raging against any war machine if you still find a way to support Trump.
@Quinatra_@ChaseForLiberty It is mind-numbing to me how many people will dump on Chase just for being consistent on principle across all groups and subjects, while extending endless trust to Trump no matter the number of his failures and bad principles.
MICROSOFT EDGE STORES ALL YOUR PASSWORDS IN PLAIN TEXT
edge password manager security fail
A security researcher just found that Edge decrypts EVERY saved password at startup and keeps them in memory - even if you never visit those sites.
The wild part? Edge still asks for your Windows password to VIEW them in the UI. The passwords are already sitting there, naked in RAM.
Chrome only decrypts passwords when you actually need them. Edge just.. doesn't.
Microsoft's response when reported: "working as intended"
If someone gets admin access on a shared machine, they can dump ALL Edge passwords from ALL logged-in users. Even disconnected ones.
The Trump administration is less “standing ready” and more speedrunning the Empire playbook.
This is the way… to completely miss the point of Star Wars.
May the 4th be with literally anyone else.
Its never happened before because for all their faults, every other previous president had the respect to honor the separation of powers.
He is a uniquely terrible chief executive.
My old sketch group #WKUK crowdfunded a movie during the pandemic and it's premiering at Tribeca this year. Been a long time coming, a bumpy road and a lot of fun. To MARS!
