So, the question of which race granting citizenship to which race does not arise at all.

With this understanding, Mahathir’s claim that the Chinese and Indian Malaysian residents then were not qualified for citizenship is brazenly absurd and insulting.

So, the citizenship of all Malayans comprised of Malays, Chinese, Indians and other races came into existence as a result of this pact with the British, the relevant details of which are enshrined in the Federal Constitution.

I thought our Merdeka was obtained through an agreement between the British colonial government and the major Malayan races of Malays, Chinese and Indians acting in unison under the Alliance Party.
