I made my first $1000 on @gumroad with a short course on mastering procrastination with ADHD. It's my first small bet a la @SmallBetsDotCom & @dvassallo. Now onto my next bet: An ADHD-friendly meditation workshop.
Serving tables in a pub from 14 to 17 was one of the best jobs I had. Taught me how to interact with strangers in a professional setting. When I built my agency those skills came in very handy. It also helps put into perspective some of the boring parts of any job. Nobody is expecting them to collect glasses their entire lives. I agree with @NapierHolland completely.
@FindJimClair Almost every town and village in the UK has this. As do most European towns and villages. (the local shops and community i meant, not the copy/paste housing)
@hjluks Depends on the fermentation process. Lacto-fermentation, using whey from raw milk for example, will ferment faster -- the shorter you ferment the less likely to turn to alcohol. Ferments are also easier to digest, particularly if the fruit has large seeds.
Nah the definitions of left and right really don't work anymore I think
We're in a completely different world
The liberal left of the 1960s hippies would now be classified as extreme right:
- anti pharma and vaccines
- anti war
- distrust of the CIA (and deep state)
- anti mainstream media
- off grid, self sufficient, trad life
- anti processed food, anti GMO, anti seed oils, instead pro organic/bio food
- free speech absolutism
- anti psychiatry and psych meds
- use psychedelics instead of meds
So I don't think the terms make sense anymore
I booked a place in Belgium through AirBnB. In late April I had a seizure and spent the night in hospital. As a result I can't travel, and can't get travel insurance. I messaged AirBnB support a few days after leaving hospital to cancel and get a refund. The support agent objectively told me they can override the host if the host refuses the refund. The host did refuse the refund. So I went to AirBnB support yesterday to send evidence of my hospital visit and diagnosis of seizures, and the reply from support was merely that the host refuses the cancellation. Then when I reminded the support person that they said they could override the host, the support person offered Β£175 in AirBnB credit, which is less than what was offered a few weeks ago. AirBnB support is all over the place, an absolute joke. I cannot travel, at all. I have evidence of a serious hospitalisation. And this is all AirBnB can offer? Ridiculous. I have photographic evidence of all of the chats with the support and evidence of my hospitalisation. @AirbnbHelp please look into my case, i want a full refund -- particularly now after having spent countless hours chasing your support team around.
If you spend all day reading self-help books written by success addicted americans you're going to want to build a multi-million dollar business, buy a yacht, and visit 5-star hotels.
Once you become aware of mimetic desire and stop reading that dross, it's quite likely you will no longer want those things. To take this further, if after you burn all your self-help books you go on a dopamine detox and happen to spend time alone in nature for a few days, you might find that your own natural, non-mimetic, desires arise from somewhere.
It might be a radical idea, but Iβve taken the extreme decision to drop my ADHD diagnosis altogether. I decided I would no longer be held back from life by a diagnosis that was made purely on a subjective basis.
One, I might add, that anyone with 30 minutes of training could also get.
And yes, I do mean anyone.
@NapierHolland@matthew_elliott Understood. I mentioned Cyprus to my wife and she said maybe for 6 months a year, the rest it too hot. I may have to keep negotiating with her.
@NapierHolland@matthew_elliott After you mentioned Cyrus I looked at the tax system. I may have this wrong but is the company tax free but the individual is taxed?
@NapierHolland@_Unknown_D_ would love to.
i think we're stuck in the uk until our disabled son finishes primary school at least. it's a special school that is extremely good at dealing with him. but that boy loves sunshine so one day soon we'll be on a plane.
spot on.
the number of times i've had people who've used my drug free adhd method try to subtly blame me when they didn't stick to the basic habits they promised they would is astounding.
tbh, i don't think people really give a fuck about adhd anymore. and the wake up call is required for the LONG TERM sanity of all.
