There’s a reason this hymn stills the room. Its power lies in the fact that it wasn’t born of comfort, but of unimaginable grief.
In 1873, after losing his young son and his fortune, Horatio Spafford sent his wife and four daughters ahead to Europe. Their ship sank, and only his wife survived.
As Horatio later sailed to reach her, the captain paused the vessel over the spot where his daughters were lost. It was there, amid the waves of his own heartbreak, that he penned the words: “It is well with my soul.”
This timeless declaration of faith is brought to life here by the Zero 8 Chorus. It reminds us that peace isn’t the absence of pain, but a strength that carries us through it.
Jesus alerts us (rephrased to everyday speak):
“Life isn’t just random and open-ended—there is a meaningful conclusion coming, and we won’t get a heads-up on timing. So we should live in a way that we’re not caught off guard.” (and be God honoring along the way).
This is George Davis. He was one of the victims who was shot early Sunday during the mass shooting at bar in downtown Austin.
The bullet fractured multiple ribs, and he had to have it surgically removed. Davis was discharged from the hospital yesterday.

Today my American friend called me.
She sounded heartbroken. She kept saying how sorry she was that the U.S. attacked Iran.
Then she paused… because I was laughing.
Not because war is funny.
Not because lives don’t matter.
But because she doesn’t understand what 47 years of tyranny feels like.
I told her: When you’ve lived under a regime that jails, tortures, kills your people, funds terror, and threatens the world , you stop fearing the noise of explosions.
You start fearing the silence of inaction.
We don’t want war.
We want the end of a regime that has held an entire nation hostage and destabilized half the planet.
By the end of the call…
we were both laughing.
Not out of cruelty.
But out of hope.
Hope that maybe this nightmare could finally end.

This is where a lot of you've got it twisted.
There is no Constitutional Right in the United States to protest, that's right. You heard me. There is no Constitutional, right that protects you to protest. What does exist is the right to peacefully assemble. That's it. No riots, no chaos, no burning shit down, no intimidation, no blocking roads, no screaming obscenities.
Peacefully assemble. You have the right to stand there. You have right to hold a sign. You have the right to assemble peacefully.
Quietly lawfully without trampling every one else's rights.
The moment it becomes loud, destructive, coercive or threaten, it stops being protected and it becomes lawlessness. I'm glad we could clear that up!
Happy New Year! 2026
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”
God is with us! 🙏
