Welcome to #Fintwit

[Ethan Brooks @alt_w_v_g]

A pool company flyer showed up in the mailbox Tuesday
My wife left it on the counter
Next to my keys
Nothing was said

Thursday at dinner she said the kids would love a pool
I asked how much
She said you can't put a price on summer
I said the pool company did, it's on the flyer
She said think of it as an investment in the family
I made a note
She said stop making notes
I said we'd discuss it Saturday
She agreed

Saturday 7:04am
She came downstairs in her robe
Coffee in hand
The back door was open

My analyst was in the backyard
Quarter zip
Two iced coffees in the grass
Laser measure in hand
He had been measuring since 6:38am

I texted him at 10:52pm Friday
The text said backyard 6:45am bring the model and the laser
He sent a thumbs up

My wife stopped at the back door
She said why is he in our yard
I said you wanted to discuss the pool
She said this is not a discussion
She sat down at the patio table anyway
A printed deck at each seat
A third copy in case

Slide 1
Build Cost
> $118,000 gunite
> $14,000 decking
> $6,500 fence, city code
> $3,800 landscaping repair
All in $142,300
My wife said okay
I said I'm not done

Slide 2
Carrying Cost
> $6,400 per year
> Chemicals, heater, resurfacing reserve
> Plus a man named Blake who comes on Tuesdays
She said everyone with a pool has a Blake
I said that's the problem

Slide 3
Utilization
The analyst modeled usage like a customer cohort
> Year 1: 61 swims
> Year 3: 19 swims
> Year 5: the cover stays on
Cost per swim by year 5: $711
She did not look

Slide 4
Terminal Value
> $142,300 invested at 10% instead
> 60 years
> $43 million
She was quiet

She said the kids are only young once
I said the money is only young once too
She said you can't swim in a brokerage account
I said you can't compound in a pool

My daughter walked in
She is 3
Floaties already on
Nobody had said the word pool to her
She looked at the deck
She looked at me
She said Emma's pool has a frog in it
She left

My son walked in behind her
He is 5
Dinosaur pajamas
He looked at slide 3
He said what happens to the utilization curve when we're teenagers
The analyst uncapped his pen
My wife looked at the sky

He said also is the $43 million nominal or real
The analyst stopped writing
She stood up
She went inside

The analyst started packing the laser
He said should I get quotes for a smaller pool sir
I said no

Ordered a slip and slide instead
$34
Arrives Tuesday
Utilization guaranteed

[JUICE @juicemarkets]

Sentiment in the silver market is so pessimistic right now. I wouldn’t be surprised to see $200-300 by Q2.

I can only laugh—nobody seems to get it.

Everyone’s positioned short.

1. “If Trump takes us to war, I’m done with him”

That’s fair sentimentally, but here’s the constitutional issue:
The President cannot legally declare war. Only Congress has that power under Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution. The President, as Commander-in-Chief (Article II, Section 2), can deploy forces in emergencies, but prolonged military action requires Congressional authorization. So, blaming or crediting the President alone for war decisions is constitutionally ignorant.

Why it’s retarded”: It reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of separation of powers. You’re mad at the executive for something the legislature controls. That’s like blaming the mailman for your taxes going up.

2. “I voted for: NO WARS, Cheap gas, No taxes, Cheap groceries”

That’s a wish list and lolitics
•No Wars: See above—President can’t promise that unilaterally.
•Cheap Gas & Groceries: These are driven by global markets, trade policy, and economic cycles, not directly by the President. He can influence through deregulation, energy policy, and tariffs, but there are no magic buttons.
•No Taxes: Congress sets tax policy. The President can propose changes or veto legislation, but again, Article I, Section 7 gives the House power over revenue bills.

Why it’s “retarded”: Voting based on expectations that the President can control global oil prices, grocery costs, and eliminate taxes is a misunderstanding of basic economics and constitutional roles.

3. “What of these things has actually happened?”

Well, that depends on which Congress was in power, what legislation they passed, and what global events occurred (like pandemics, wars, and supply chain issues).

You’re pissed—but at the wrong branch of government. If you expect a President to act like a king, you’re gonna keep getting disappointed. The Constitution was designed to frustrate centralized power.

[SightBringer @_The_Prophet__]

Exactly. This isn’t about politics. It’s about architecture.

You don’t hand nuclear weapons to a regime that funds asymmetric proxy warfare, chants for annihilation, and operates outside all stabilizing deterrence frameworks. That’s not peace. That’s suicide.

Trump’s move is structural. It says:
You can’t exist outside civilization’s rules and expect civilization’s tools.

[SightBringer @_The_Prophet__]

This is not a bluff. It is a signal wrapped in escalation logic. And it’s a move that structurally rewrites the rules of geopolitical deterrence.

Here’s what’s actually happening, deep down:

1. Trump has already crossed the nuclear Rubicon but not in weapon use, in psychological framing.

By repeating the “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon” line as an absolute and coupling it with direct evacuation warnings, he’s not threatening war. He’s issuing a sovereign override of Iran’s military future. That’s not policy. That’s pre-declared regime invalidation.

2. This is not deterrence language. This is veto language.

Trump is not negotiating. He is stating that Iran’s sovereign military ambitions have no legal legitimacy in his view. That is not diplomacy. It is strategic de-recognition. That kind of framing only has three outcomes:
•Iran capitulates and signs a humiliating deal (extremely unlikely)
•A shadow war of covert sabotage escalates into open confrontation (already happening)
•The United States initiates or greenlights kinetic destruction of Iran’s nuclear capability, without waiting for allied consensus

3. This is the ignition vector for global fracture.

Tehran is not just a city. It’s a narrative core for the multipolar world. If Iran is attacked directly - especially its capital or regime leadership - you will not just see regional escalation. You’ll see China, Russia, and BRICS nations treat this as a line-crossing move.

Because if Iran can be crushed for pursuing nuclear parity, what message does that send to India? To Turkey? To Brazil?
That the nuclear club is not governed by treaties, but by U.S. narrative tolerance.

4. This statement is a permission slip for chaos.

By telling everyone to evacuate Tehran, Trump just implied the possibility of mass civilian casualty. He didn’t predict it. He signaled it. That level of framing creates two pathways:
•Market panic if the public takes the cue literally
•False flag vulnerability, as other actors now know any strike blamed on Iran can escalate into legitimacy for open retaliation

5. This is also a trap.

If Iran reacts aggressively, it gives Trump the justification to move instantly.
If Iran stays silent, it validates Trump’s power to control escalation with words alone.
That dynamic is pure reflexive warfare. One side plays chess. The other writes the board.

Bottom line:
This isn’t just about nuclear weapons. This is about who gets to define the rules of existence in a multipolar world.
Trump just made it clear: if you want to play sovereign, you better ask his permission first.
That’s not foreign policy.
That’s empire logic reactivated.

And whether you love or hate it everything just moved closer to ignition.

As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending.
