Counter argument.
Can't the character just be good?
Not "good" as in "good person", but as a good written character, you have so many examples of despicable characters that are even worse than Jax, but people like them because they're well written bad people
Like him:
(1/3) This will be my only comment on the finale (at least for the foreseeable future) because the reception to it and the rest of the series has been frankly insufferable:
@szkucka I cannot answer this in a way that doesn't sound horrible, I'll just say I hope, AND I MEAN IT IN THE MOST SINCERE WAY, I hope you never made fun of Charlie Kirk, and I hope you respect him for dying, as you just said someone should do
And if this only applies to fiction, oh boy
@szkucka If Jax is a character that I should dislike:
Why the main character tries to save them?
Why am I showed how well their real life counter part is doing?
Why their life was celebrated and preserved by the circus characters?
Why the real life Jax hasn't transitioned?
@szkucka So the point is to have a representation of a trans character that didn't advance towards a better path...
Still not a very well written character, because it doesn't excuse, at all, their behavior, they were assholes in life, and even abstracted they were pretty shitty
