🛡 Before You Migrate: What to Prepare

The wallet migration tool will be released once the updated SecondFi app has been approved by Apple’s App Store and Google Play. In the meantime, you can take the following steps so that you are ready when the tool becomes available.

You will need a destination wallet. Create a new, Cardano-compatible wallet with a reputable provider of your choice and have its receiving address ready. The wallet must be one that you control. Do not use an exchange deposit address, as exchange addresses may, among other potential issues, lead to delays, lack of access or permanent loss of assets.

For additional security, consider using a hardware wallet, which keeps your private keys offline. Setting up your destination wallet now is the most useful step you can take before launch.

The migration tool will move ADA, Cardano native tokens, and Cardano NFTs only. Other assets will not be migrated and you must transfer them separately to a wallet that you control and that supports the relevant network and asset.

If your SecondFi wallet is connected to a hardware wallet, you will not use the in-app migration process. Instead, connect the hardware device to another compatible Cardano wallet provider and follow the provider’s official instructions.

Never enter or disclose your recovery phrase unless you are following verified recovery instructions from the hardware-wallet manufacturer. SecondFi will never ask for your recovery phrase, private key, password, or verification code.

Wallets must be migrated one at a time. If you have more than one wallet, repeat the process for each wallet. The app will identify wallets that still hold a balance.

The migration tool will be included in an updated version of the existing SecondFi app. There is no separate migration app and no migration website. When the tool becomes available, update the SecondFi app directly through Apple’s App Store or Google Play.

We will announce here when the updated app is available. Be cautious of unsolicited messages, links, websites, or applications claiming to provide access to the migration tool.

Before confirming any migration, carefully verify the destination-wallet address. Blockchain transactions are irreversible.

🛡 Security Reminder: Migration Tool in the Official SecondFi App Only

The wallet migration tool is now live. Migration takes place within an updated version of the official SecondFi application you already have installed. There is no separate migration application, no standalone migration website, and no new application to install. Update the existing SecondFi application through the official app store on your device.

These commitments apply without exception:

- We will never ask you to send funds to any address.
- We will never ask you to install an application, browser extension, or remote access tool from a link sent to you.
- Although we may respond to your queries, we will never initiate contact with you by direct message on X, Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, or any other platform.
- SecondFi personnel and support representatives will never ask you to send, disclose, read aloud, or share your seed phrase or private key.

If anyone asks you to send ADA to an address they provide in order to complete migration, verify your wallet, or release your assets, treat it as fraudulent.

The sophistication of the presentation is not evidence of legitimacy. If an interaction breaches any of the rules above, treat it as fraudulent, regardless of how convincing or professional it appears.

Fake apps and browser extensions exist in official app stores, including fake Cardano wallets. We expect more scams during the migration period.

Scammers are using fake apps and messages to try to steal seed phrases (recovery credentials) during this migration.

How to migrate safely:
- Use the official SecondFi app you already have installed.
- Use the official SecondFi browser extension.
- Do not download any new apps or software.
- There is no separate migration website or app.
- If you have NEVER used SecondFi before, we recommend using your seed phrase to recover in a new Cardano wallet, no need to use the migration tool.

Key safety rules:
- The migration tool will never ask for your seed phrase or private key.
- Migrate only inside the official SecondFi app using your usual device login (PIN, fingerprint, or password).
- SecondFi staff and support will never ask for your seed phrase or private key.
- Anyone who asks for your seed phrase is a scammer.

What we will never do:
- We will never send you a link asking you to install an app, extension, or remote access tool.
- We will never ask you to send funds to any address.

Before you start:
1. Update your SecondFi app.
2. Check that you are using the official SecondFi app from your device's app store.
3. Ignore any request to install new software for this migration.

Stay alert:
- Scams can look very professional. Do not trust a message just because it looks official.
- Always check requests against our official security rules.

Scammers are using advanced AI tools to create very convincing fake messages. Follow these rules to keep your crypto safe.

How to spot a scam:
- We will never message you first on X, Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, or any other app. If you get a direct message from us, it is a scammer.
- We will never ask you to "verify," "sync," or "unlock" your wallet. These processes do not exist.
- We will never ask you to send funds to any crypto address.
- Our asset recovery tool is not live yet. Anyone offering to help you recover assets is a scammer.

How to migrate safely:

First, read the terms and tick the confirmation box to continue. The extension shows what applies to your wallets before you begin.

Step 1: Click Migrate Cardano Wallet Now on your home screen.

Step 2: Enter your new wallet's destination address and check it carefully. Addresses linked to the incident are blocked. If you see this error, enter a different Cardano wallet address that you control.

Step 3: Review the amount, the destination address, and the network fee, then sign to submit. Blockchain transfers cannot be reversed once they are signed and submitted.

Step 4: Your migration is pending on the blockchain. It should complete in a few minutes. You can follow the transactions in Recent activity.

Once the migration is complete, the assets will arrive in the new wallet. Confirm the amount matches before you treat the migration as done.

You will need to repeat this for each wallet to migrate. Keep the original wallet in the app and do not delete the wallet or the application, as they may be needed for asset recovery.

- Do not check only the first and last characters. Check the entire address.
- Blockchain transfers cannot be reversed once signed and submitted.
