Excited to have my JMP "Frustrated Customers: The Effect of Unexpected Emotional Cues on Yelp Reviews" forthcoming at @JSMjournal. Especially thankful for my amazing committee members @joshua_c_hall, @humphreys_brad, and Jane Ruseski!

@humphreys_brad@jc_bradbury Right now it is easy to stay safe with social distancing. I am still waiting to hear what the fall semester will be like across the USG, but if the growth in cases continues, in-person classes could be risky.
Pleased to present my NAASE graduate student award paper at the Eastern Economic Association conference and thankful for @humphreys_brad for teaching the best possible sports econ class in which the paper got started.
Josh Matti explores the effect of unexpected wins and losses by the Phoenix Suns on local Yelp reviews. Unexpected losses are associated with local residents giving lower ratings. Unexpected wins have no effect. Clear example of loss aversion. @josh_matti
I never thought I would create a Twitter account, but now there is too much quality economics content floating around to miss out on becoming a better economics teacher and researcher.
