In 2012 as a 3rd year lawyer, I did a federal trial in VT. The gov alleged that the defendant drove a parent with child from VA to Canada to dodge custody orders in VA and VT. I argued that trial had to take place where criminal conduct occurred. That could be VA, NY, or any state in between. But not VT. I argued that intent is irrelevant under the Constitution’s venue provision. The trial judge & 2nd Circuit disagreed. I do appreciate the fact that SCOTUS’s 9-0 ruling is consistent with my view.

I can’t fit everything in a carry on for a two-day trip for a hearing because my suit takes up a lot of room and also I have this sick fantasy where my anxiety lets me exercise.
The year is 2027. Trump has now been president for seven thousand years. The Supreme Court rules 5-4 that, actually, the Weaponization Fund didn’t steal *enough* money from taxpayers.
About once a month, Trump finds a new way to urinate on the Constitution. Yes this is what you voted for. After he tried to steal a second term, you had no excuse. None. You should have read Jack Smith’s DC indictment or at least a summary of it. You owed that to your country.
I grew up with conservatives talking about taxes as stealing. That’s not really true when our representatives pass laws to raise or lower taxes, but it *is* true when Trump imposes illegal tariffs and uses lawsuits as a ruse to cut checks from the treasury to himself and others.
