Your GP says you should see a hospital specialist for your condition
Labour’s new Single Point of Access now decides whether that GP referral goes through
They have a target to "redirect" 25% of referrals
I wanted to know: who is making that decision?
I asked the Minister 👇
Absolutely disgraceful racism from @jkyleofficial on @TalkTV. As the camera zooms in on me and @DrHWazir on the picket line, he sneers that “a lot of them have come into this country to be doctors.” He based this solely on the colour of my skin.
I was born in the UK. I studied and trained in the UK and I currently work as a doctor in the NHS. My grandfather fought for this country in WW2.
This is racist, demeaning, and utterly unacceptable.
What a disgraceful and patronising way to treat healthcare staff working hours on end to look after us all.
These training posts are vital for the future of our NHS. To use them as bargaining chips is appalling.
Time to end privatisation and fund the NHS properly instead.
✊🏻Manchester FBU members stand with @TheBMA today.
✊🏻The fight for pay restoration is all too familiar.
✊🏻The managed decline of public services is all too familiar.
“Patients need doctors and doctors need jobs”
Today, we've written to @wesstreeting to ask the Government to resume talks – and work with us to agree a viable deal on pay and jobs.
Without movement on both, we’ll be left with no choice but to return to the picket lines.
Now we know why Rishi Sunak refuses to negotiate with NHS staff.
He wants the strikes to go ahead, so he can blame doctors and nurses for his failure.

I graduated as a doctor 4 years ago with ~£100k of debt, and despite working up to 72 hours a week, my debt has only increased.
Doctors are being paid £17/hour and have to make loan repayments and pay thousands for exams and fees.
We are only asking for £23/hour.
@wesstreeting
Today's 10 Year Health Plan is largely a disappointment, despite Wes Streeting's promise that it would deal with training bottlenecks and end doctor underemployment.
Here's why👇🧵

Removing paid breaks is not a wellbeing initiative, it's a cost-cutting measure @MFTnhs
We are amazed that you are trying to impose this change after BMA reps objected. The Junior Doctor Contract you claim to want to mirror mandates paid breaks. Our LNC is on the case.
Merry Christmas to all those working in the NHS today
Many staff in the NHS are grossly underpaid (even on Christmas day👇) but none more so than Junior Doctors who frequently graduate with >£100k debt
RT to support them & ask government to pay them ALL fairly #PayRestoration
My door is always open to discuss how we can work together with NHS staff to improve their working lives.
But this pay award is final, so I urge the BMA to call an end to this callous and calculated disruption. (4/4)
We can now announce that for the first time, junior doctors and consultants will be taking joint strike action in England.
Here are the dates for September and October #DoctorsStrike
