Quick Thoughts on Debate

1/3 Fact-Checking Responsibility: It’s not the moderator’s job to fact-check during a debate. That responsibility lies with the debaters. If your opponent is spreading misinformation, it’s your duty to call it out and challenge them directly.

2/3 Time Mgt: Moderators shouldn’t have to remind debaters of their remaining time. If a debater fails to utilize their allotted time effectively, the opponent should be allowed to highlight this and use it to their advantage, emphasizing that the point was left unaddressed.
