Folks in droves are in the quotes and replies dunking on @TheRealOlagreat for taking this legal step against @SevillaFC_ENG@SevillaFC.
Lol. People sue over matters far less significant than this in developed jurisdictions and many of you applaud them for standing up for their rights. E reach black man turn, una begin dey mock am. Lol.
Now, let's look at the facts:
Sevilla's official X account publicly stated that if OlaGreat's post/tweet/reply etc hit a specified milestone, he would be given a trial.
Did OlaGreat fulfil his part of the arrangement? YES.
Did the post hit the target? YES.
Did Sevilla provide the trial as publicly promised? NO.
At the very least, there is a legitimate question to be answered.
Whether the claim ultimately succeeds is a matter for the courts to decide. However, dismissing the matter outright is misguided.
An official club account made a public commitment, benefited from the engagement and publicity generated by that commitment, and then appears not to have honoured the spirit of it after the target was achieved. That alone is enough to raise serious questions.
Idividuals and organisations in Western countries routinely face legal challenges over broken promises, misleading promotions, and representations made to the public. Not every case succeeds, but the fact that someone seeks legal redress is not, in itself, something to ridicule.
You may disagree with OlaGreat's legal position. You may even believe the case will fail. That's your right.
But acting as though he is entitled for taking a step to test the issue in court is completely unfair on him.
I’ve been saying this, I think another issue is that the featured artist on the song isn’t pushing heavily as well.
Most collabs that do well are always as a result of both artists actively pushing the record.
My Biggest Regret.
Not working in a big tech startup for at least a year....
Dear Freelancers...
My advise to you is.
Ignore the noise, ignore the money
Take up a role in a big tech company.
It would do more for you than anything.
