Yhonzae Pierre is easily the single most important player on Alabama’s roster for 2026 — and it’s not particularly close IMO.

We have questions about the pass rush, but it’s all about establishing complementary pieces to Pierre. He’s the game wrecker; he’s the one offensive coordinators will have nightmares about.

Other guys will be set up for success because of the amount of attention Pierre will get going into any given Saturday. If he goes down and that primary focus can shift to complementary pieces, could be a bad recipe. Pass rush *must* be there to maximize a deep, opportunistic secondary.

Devan Thompkins can be a dude and an excellent complementary piece (in some ways, runs in tandem with Pierre as a possible primary piece too, which would make that duo even more lethal). Dez Zulu is talented enough to take advantage of his opportunities. Justin Hill has the tools to take the next step as a pass rusher. I can see Xavier Griffin getting involved and being another dynamic situational player, but that type of role is limited.

Pierre is an every-down game wrecker though. He’s where it all starts.
