That's why schools & colleges are expected to adopt the definition. It will help teachers & pupils to spot and tackle antisemitism- opening up, rather than shutting down essential conversations. That's also why it's been backed by 47 countries.

51% of Jewish teachers - many of them NEU members - experienced antisemitism in school in the past year.
Fixing this starts with defining the problem. IHRA spotlights the insidious and often subtle nature of antisemitism. It doesn't stifle criticism of the government of Israel.
Four in five new jobs in the last decade have been given to foreign workers as a consequence of the "Boriswave", says families minister Josh MacAlister MP.
"The Boriswave is over. Net migration is down massively."
"We are cracking open the fostering system."
Minister for Children and Families Josh McAlister speaks to us about the government's new initiative to get more people to be foster carers, and why it's so important.
Every seat in this stadium represents a child who could benefit from the stability of a loving home.
We’re launching a national campaign to help create 10,000 new foster places and give more children the chance to thrive.

@JoshMacAlister
As the govt urges more people to come forward to become foster carers, Children's Minister @JoshMacAlister tells @SophyRidgeSky there are lots of different forms of fostering, including part-time at the weekend ⬇️
We need thousands more foster carers to help look after vulnerable children, but too many people assume they aren’t the right fit to foster.
As we prepare to launch our national recruitment campaign, Minister for Children and Families @JoshMacAlister sat down with a foster carer, Ricardo Sinclair, to talk about what fostering can mean and to bust some of those myths.

Labour minister Josh MacAlister confirms that the culture of taking dogs to the pub “still exists”, after another minister said the vision of “warm ale and a lab by your feet” was a “far-right fantasy”.
“I’ve got two lovely lurchers and regularly take them to the pub with me.”
We face huge challenges in our justice system - from prison capacity to unprecedented court backlogs.
Harnessing Artificial Intelligence will be at the heart of solutions to each.
That’s why I was pleased to have been appointed by the Lord Chancellor as Technology lead at the @MoJGovUK to turbocharge the transformation of our justice system.

Today I met Education Minister @JoshMacAlister to discuss my campaign for mandatory antisemitism education in schools.
We agreed students must understand antisemitism today – not only the Holocaust.
Really encouraged by the conversation and what comes next.
I'm proud England remains one of the world's top-performing education systems and I want to thank the teachers whose dedication makes this possible.
I don’t want to stand still on the back of it. I want excellence everywhere, for every child, in every part of the country.
The best systems don't choose between academic and technical excellence, or engagement in education. They do it all - strong academic standards, alongside high-quality vocational and technical education, and a sense of belonging and purpose in the classroom too.
So we'll build on what works and go further: more pathways into study and work, equipping young people with the tools and opportunities to shape their own future.
Today’s report from @AshleyJBaptiste and Clare Chamberlain shines a spotlight on this tragedy. A big part of the answer is changing care itself so that we obsess over building lifelong loving relationships around care experienced people.
Sky's @NickMartinSKY challenges the children's minister on how the government is going to act now that they have stats that show the number of young care leavers dying has risen.
https://t.co/AdrN1Sr5WV
Young care leavers are estimated to be dying at three to four times the rate of other people their age. Turning 18 is a point of particular vulnerability – a "care cliff" that governments have long known about, but are yet to solve.
Sky’s @NickMartinSKY reports
Months of deep, emotional work. Our review into early care leaver deaths is now live. This report is SO important & tells the story of some of our most vulnerable care experienced young people. Please do read & share. 🙏🏽❤️ https://t.co/utyoMc2X6I
