Couldn’t agree more @MoGreenNCDPI.
Gov. Hunt was a hero of mine and a true inspiration for how to lead in the education space. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will remain!
I’ll always be thankful for the note he gave me to always keep working for students and schools.
Governor Hunt transformed North Carolina public education through his unwavering belief that every child deserved an excellent education. From Smart Start to Teaching Fellows, from higher standards to better teacher pay, his legacy touches every classroom in our state. He was a great education governor—a champion who understood that strong public schools build strong communities and bright futures. As we mourn his loss, we recommit to his vision: that North Carolina can and should lead the nation in public education.
The facts matter. The people matter. The Senate’s Medicaid approach breaks promises and will kick people off of Medicaid who truly need it. The Senate can make one simple fix to make sure that won’t happen.
Excited to be at the NC Legislative Black Caucus Foundation HBCU Scholarship Dinner!
North Carolina is the nations leader in HBCUs and is home to the country’s largest HBCU. This event has been so special, and is an amazing opportunity to support our students across our state!
Several of our staff were in Robeson today for the local Kiwanis Club meeting. Our Deputy Director of Community Engagement @joshmcgee_ presented the latest on the latest on issues at the state and local level. We will be back in Robeson on June 4th for a State of the Child lunch.
Big news JFA just passed the NC House!
This bill is huge in supporting our students and equipping our educators.
Educators are on the frontlines. Often they are mentors, safe spaces, and first responders. This bill recognizes their role and gives them tools to help save lives!
The NC House just passed the Jason Flatt Act unanimously. The bill helps address the issue of youth mental health by providing suicide prevention training to school personnel. We encourage the NC Senate to take this meaningful step to support our youth.

Child care in our state is becoming harder to find and more expensive. Families must be able to access quality, affordable child care.
I am grateful for organizations like @ncchild, who are working to ensure all our children have the opportunity to succeed.
You gotta be KIDDING ME with this box!
Coach Doeren and the entire @PackFootball staff outdid themselves with all this stuff, I truly cannot get over it.
Thank you guys... 1 Pack 1 Goal!!!

.@SenThomTillis to Pam Bondi: "I find it hard to believe that the president of the United States or you would look at facts that were used to convict the violent people on January the 6th and say it was just an intemperate moment...it's an absurd and unfair hypothetical."
There's a lot of misinformation about our assistance programs & we encourage #Helene survivors to continue applying for support from us. Serious Needs Assistance is one of many benefits we offer - designed to help people with emergency items while their application is processed.
What we are seeing and hearing in WNC is heart breaking. After discussions with many district and school leaders in the west, @ncpublicschools presented its #HurricaneHelene relief asks for consideration by the @NCLeg today. We will continue listening to school leaders and advocating for students, staff and school needs. #nced #ncpol
The modern economy seems to discount the merits of raising children, and federal family policy remains antiquated and scattered across the tax code. My Family Security Act increases the Child Tax Credit without adding a penny to the national debt.https://t.co/xTcGw8fLXS
