Sound Colonization: How the GRAMMY Awards Are Rewiring African Musical Ambitions
The GRAMMYs Awards are quietly penetrating into Africa and rewriting our idea of musical success. What used to be local pride has become a global hunt for Western validation. A foreign award now decides who African music stakeholders call “great,” while the same institution barely acknowledges the continent in its most important categories.
The introduction of New African Category, GRAMMY GO (accompanied by government MoUs) — it’s all packaged as “empowerment,” but beneath the wrapping lies a subtle cultural takeover. And as artists obsess over streams, crossover hits, and algorithm approval, local award shows fade into the background.
This objective of the video isn’t to discourage ambition, but a reminder that African greatness was never meant to be certified in America.
Our music shaped nations long before this western trophy appeared. Greatness is not imported. It is meant to be lived, built, and celebrated right here on African soil.
This was a story I told in 2021, but some people came together to use noise to distort the narrative surrounding Cornflakes For Jihad and made it sound like the point of that story was to attack Northern Muslims.
Meanwhile, the entire point of the story was that external (Saudi & Qatari) intervention in the religious, economic and political structure of Northern Nigeria over 3 or 4 decades had slowly transformed it into something that it historically was NOT.
My dad served in Sokoto State in 1977, and he always said that the only reason he went back to Lagos afterward was that the Sokoto State Government only offered him a 1-year renewable fixed-term contract, instead of a permanent job like he wanted. Apart from that, he was perfectly comfortable living there as a Christian amidst a very Muslim population - they were not extremists!
Something happened between the 1970s and the 2000s that terraformed an entire region into a tinder box, and that is the story I tried to tell 4 years ago. That is what Cornflakes For Jihad was about! This "extremism" was an external creation!
The Saudis and Qataris under the watchful eyes of their daddy in DC pumped hundreds of millions of dollars into Wahhabi extremist projects in North and West Africa via their SPV organisations like the Muslim World League and Eid Charity, and Northern Nigeria was a key victim of this external interference in West Africa.
Where perhaps Cornflakes For Jihad failed was that it didn't go far enough to stress the point that the U.S. State Department was aware of everything that happened every step of the way, and it happily enabled it by quietly letting all the key actors off the hook after initially making some noise and doing some eye service like Ahmed Nasreddin's indictment (which it didn't act on). The reason I didn't go far enough was that at the time I wrote it, I was not yet in a phase of my personal development where I was ready to openly call out the U.S. government for being the world's biggest source and enabler of terrorism. I was still trying to play nice with monsters.
Lessons have been learned since then anyway.

Most cybersecurity courses cost $1,000+. This one is free.
Here’s how to get ISO 27001 certified at no cost:
Cybersecurity can feel overwhelming—so many concepts, so much jargon.
When I started, I had zero experience. No insider connections.
One of my first big wins? Assisting a company with ISO 27001 certification
That one skill became the foundation for everything I do in cybersecurity.
Now, you can gain the same knowledge for free.
Mastermind is offering a free, self-paced ISO 27001 Lead Auditor course, covering 14 key cybersecurity areas. You’ll earn a certificate and a Credly badge to showcase on LinkedIn.
Over 45,000 companies use ISO 27001. Tech giants like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft rely on it.
Even if you don’t specialize in GRC, understanding these essentials will set you apart in cybersecurity.
Take the course. Get certified. Stand out

This is the Akpabio that is leading the Legislature, the bedrock of law making and policy oversight in Nigeria.
These allegations were made to the media in plain, clear and explicit terms. Today, no prosecution, he is hiding under the APC criminal party to avoid accountability.
A disgrace.
He specifically named Boko Haram.
I repeat, he specifically named Boko Haram as a recipient of US intelligence funding.
I have nothing further to say. My work here is done.

HOW WEST BUYS AFRICAN JOURNALISTS EXPOSED!
A leaked document titled the 'Adaptive Country Plan Research' - obtained by West Africa Weekly's @DavidHundeyin - reveals the extent of the on-going information war in Africa. In this clip, Hundeyin details how African journalists are used by NGOs to smear anti-imperialist individuals such as himself, as well as platforms like African Stream.
The document was assembled by the Centre for Information Resilience (CIR) and circulated to 10 Nigerian journalist who took part in a private retreat at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, Ghana. In it, unfounded claims by former US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken - that African Stream is a Russian propaganda outfit - are regurgitated, citing sources that fail to produce any evidence.
To ‘demonstrate’ that we are doing the Kremlin’s bidding, the document points, for example, to a story we did on the 1995 Nigerian government’s execution of the ‘Ogoni 9’ - environmental activists who opposed the destruction of the Ogoni people and their lands by large conglomerates such as British oil-and-gas company Shell. The absurd logic here seems to be that highlighting Western-backed corporate crimes against Africans is now pro-Russian!
CIR, as Hundeyin mentions, is a London-based NGO founded by Adam Rutland and Ross Burley, who are both former employees of the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). It claims to be independent but is funded by the FCDO and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
USAID has recently come under scrutiny, following President Donald Trump's funding freeze. The organisation has been accused of being a tool of US foreign policy, dressed up as humanitarian efforts. On 4 February, the Columbia Journalism Review reported that over 6,000 journalists in some 30 countries were USAID funded.

Amaterasu's Hybrid Asset Mechanic
- Fungible token (FT) and Non-Fungible Token (NFT) contracts are interlinked.
- Actions on one contract reflect on the other.
- Acquiring the adequate FT amount mints an NFT.
- Selling the FTs forfeits the corresponding NFTs if the ratio/threshold is not fulfilled.
Example: 10,000 $AMA = 1 NFT
If you sell 0.1$AMA, you are left with 9,999.9 $AMA, thus forfeiting your NFT.
Every 10,000 $AMA Tokens is the threshold for minting 1 Amaterasu NFT.
