@nicksortor@susancrabtree Also the former GM said that reservoir would have helped but not saved the day. Water likely would have to go from the 117 million gallon reservoir to the million gallon ones and then out to the hydrants. That doesn’t happen quickly. Thus not “saving the day”.
@nicksortor@susancrabtree The LA Times article says the former DWP GM said there was a tear in the cover which means the water would be contaminated so they couldn’t keep water in it until that was fixed. January & February is always the time to do maintenance on water systems-it’s the lowest usage months
@thomashawk Actually non-peak hours in California are in the middle of the day now when we have excess solar power. Cheapest power is during those times. Night time power is now the most expensive. But I still agree with you. Used to be the opposite with night time power being cheaper.
