@wicknebster@prophethusband I cannot express enough how the thread and website are not informative at all. Stabilisation theory is an extremely fringe alt theory of evolution created by a crackpot, who also happens to be the one who created the website that was linked.
@chipstutteplay @DoormanForCats Lol the dude who came up with this theory thinks that humans arose essentially from a chimpanzee fucking a pig. His evidence for hybridization of this kind is pretty much that the species seem to have characteristics that look/behave similar/ly.
@DoormanForCats The reason they don't take him seriously is because stabilisation theory and all other non-Darwinian theories of evolution simply lack evidence to support them. In short, McCarthy is a crackpot.
@DoormanForCats "Don't just take my word for it..." Proceeds to share a web page about a fringe alternative theory of evolution from a site created by the fringe scientist who came up with the theory. Also, the scientist in question is sort of a joke nobody takes seriously.
@comrade_luigi@GerardDalbon Also, imagine trying to do comparative politics and using completely different scales of reference for each country included in your analysis. Absolute nightmare.
@comrade_luigi@GerardDalbon Oh my god, stop. You learned the term Overton window one time and now you think you can use it to explain everything. The map is ludicrously wrong about most countries included, in most time periods.
@CalebLovell The ideological data used for this map is so bad I want to cry. Genuinely some of the most absurd basic analysis I have ever seen. I can't imagine putting this much effort into something just to mess it up this way. It's like painting a picture and varnishing it with diarrhoea.
@RichiesParrot @boxofficebuz@AriDrennen Seems like that would be important, right? Anyway, we know about this article and it's years old. You can look it up too if you care about accuracy.
