@mcmansionhell I grew up in Marin County, CA, hanging out in Eichler homes (mine wasn't but all my friends' houses were) and going to the library in the FLW Civic Center, so every time I see a Frank Lloyd Wright house it's like meeting a friend's grandparents.
@GoldwagNathan Very true. Why do you think Columbus discovered* America the very same year that Spain expelled the Jews? He discovered it to get inspired by American white supremacists.
*Yeah, I know.
@mattyglesias His first term isn't over! And no one is defining "collapse," so maybe it just means a government shutdown and not a lot of new TV shows for a while?
After getting called a Nazi and Klan supporter by fellow Jews on Yom Kippur, I've removed the Twitter app from my mobile devices. Still checking in on the web, but this place is unhealthy. The instant urge to hostility is creepy and not good for my health or yours.
@chriswb71 @Audzilla27 @QueenMab87 That's not what I said. My point is that, as in the US now, it's ordinary people, not special evil ones, who are accepting and acting on evil ideologies.
@QueenMab87@lizzie_albin My only point was to say ordinary people, not just inherently evil ones, do evil things, and that no one is wholly safe from the danger of being misled by evil ideologies. Let's leave it at that.
@KrisRHoyt @QueenMab87 It was my intention. If anyone thought I meant 21st century Jews would join in Nazi atrocities in the 1940s, this is a misunderstanding.
@QueenMab87@lizzie_albin No. This is incorrect. I know they existed though. Again, there were sides at the time. You know which you would have been on. Because of your ethnicity.
@QueenMab87 @KrisRHoyt OK, I read into it. It seemed very obvious that you wouldn't personally choose Nazism, but if that was your only point and it was unrelated to any idea in the prior tweet about ordinary people doing evil, then I misunderstood. It's a curious non sequitur, that's all.
