Joshua Prentice

Aussie living in Sweden. I swim, ride and run. Often in that order. Proud member of the Melbourne Demons. Lover of harness racing, especially the trotters.

@melbournefans Clearly the coach is still fuming that his best player skipped the B&F to focus on his recovery and be the best player he can be. Goodwin looks positively livid. Mick Warner will find some angle to write a 17-part series criticising this hug.

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

@benprentice01 He was asking the hard hitting questions like “do you or your mum control the music in the car?” I was on the edge of my seat in anticipation of the response.

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

My father sent me this today. This is Gary Donaldson’s record since June 24th. Not bad for a bloke with 3 horses in work!
19 starters
8 wins
5 seconds
2 thirds (one in a group 1)
2 4ths
1-5th
1-6th

Rosie won again today at Ararat. Her effort & @jimmmyherb’s drive were 15/10.

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

An Aussie back at @SolvallaTrav. I ran the 5km race for prostate cancer research & finished 4th. I was channeling my inner Harry around the last bend but just couldn’t quite reign in 3rd. It was without doubt the coolest race I’ve ever done!

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

The first Wednesday in November is the biggest race day in my calendar. Well done, Rosie! Gary has her absolutely flying at the moment and @jimmmyherb drives her perfectly at every start.

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

@kirstengraham91 The power of our great sport. A maiden win at Cobram can give you a lift even in tough times. Enjoy the win and may there be more wins on and off the track in store for you.

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

@StuartGillesp18 @HarnessCharity @MCruicky I’m sorry that Rosie couldn’t quite get up for you! John Caldow rated the winner perfectly and our girl tried her best in a fast last half.

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

A question for @craighutchy & @barrettdamian: was the biggest footy media move missed? Staff Writers has left the Herald Sun to work for AFL Media. Will Staff Writers make an appearance on AFL Daily next season? Could Staff Writers be lured to the ABC by AFKAF? @SoundingBoardEp

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

@JasonBonnington Give her a massive high five from a 39 year old bloke whose hoop dreams cruelly did not match reality. Good things come to those who work hard!

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

@PacesettersAU @JasonBonnington @codywinnell Great discussion. “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”. We are battling for a slice of the public’s “discretionary spending”. That’s what punting is. Anything to help us get a slice of discretionary spending is a good thing.

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

@sweetestplum I hope that you and Nick are well. The Petrasco trade nearly got off the ground this year. This trade period sadly lacks Terry Wallace managing lists & telling us to look at Dom Sheed. May your fourth rounders be plentiful and thank you once again for all those years of laughter.

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

@PacesettersAU @JasonBonnington @codywinnell Brilliant discussion. I thoroughly agree with everything you said re sprint lanes, discretionary handicaps, standing starts & the focus on short course, age group racing. It was what made our sport unique and we are a beige copy of the other codes at best without them.

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

That was one of the gutsiest wins I’ve seen. They looked cooked at half time and got back off the canvas. A neutral fan and my pulse is through the roof. How good is footy?! #AFLFinals #AFLCatsLions

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

Rosie!!! Our girl who has always been a few lengths behind the best finally got her long overdue moment in the sun tonight. It might have been the Vicbred Silver but she’s a golden girl in our eyes. Gary has his team flying at present and what a steer by @jimmmyherb!!!

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

3rd in a Vicbred final going 1:59.5 as a 2yo trotter. Our lad tried his guts out tonight and just found 2 better. Well done to Jayne Davies & @ChrisAlford5000. Golden Reign is still my favourite horse so it is alright to be beaten by your heroes.

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

@PacesettersAU @JasonBonnington @codywinnell I loved this, lads. I know that there is a power of work & analysis gone into this. I will don a singlet in honour of J Bon’s once I have left the office. I have a small share in Zarski and have everything crossed ahead of Saturday night.

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

Sometimes you can be thrilled with a run even when you run second. Lurch tried his absolute heart out at Bendigo. He was beaten by a classic @ChrisAlford5000 drive & a heck of training effort by Tyrone Abela. The big fella has earned his spell.

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

Barrier 4 is handy. Gary will have him trained to the minute and he will be steered expertly by @jimmmyherb. It’s all about good manners & racing luck. You’ll hear me if he is a winning chance with 200m to go.

Good luck to anyone who has a runner in a Vicbred final.

@sharpman87 I don’t know how to feel sorrier for. Blues fans who travelled to the Gabba to watch this or the owners of Never Ending travelling from WA to watch their horse sit last the trip when they ran their first half in 60 seconds.

[Joshua Prentice @joshprenno]

Luke McCarthy. That drive was 75 out of 10. Comprehensively best driven and won accordingly.
