@jonmikesav8 It still falls under exceptional circumstances. Under-16s can’t normally play senior football because of education and safeguarding rules. Ampadu’s debut was allowed because it was a cup match, during school holidays, with full academy registration and welfare clearance.

@jonmikesav8 Just to be clear—outside of the “exceptional circumstances” I’ve mentioned multiple times, it doesn’t happen. JJ isn’t suddenly an exception unless United have 50 injuries. And that loan you’re dreaming of? Yeah… rules still say no.

@jonmikesav8 Normally EFL players must be 16+ to play senior matches, but Lovelace made his debut at 15 because the club got special permission from his school and the FA due to exceptional circumstances.
You couldn’t get that every week.
