If you're using LLMs for research and want the latest dataset, Claude 2 is your best bet.

- The new GPT-4 Turbo version of ChatGPT (OpenAI) has a data cutoff of April 2023.

- Perplexity's core data spans up to September 2021. Its access to recent information is limited and has been said to be unreliable.

- Gemini (Google) has a knowledge cutoff in early 2023.

- Llama 2 (Meta) uses data with a cutoff date between January and July 2023.

- Claude 2 (Anthropic) has the most recent cutoff date of August 2023.

Little tip - when you put something into ChatGPT or an alternative LLM, you can add in the prompt “Please ask me any contextual information that would be useful to you”. And it’ll come back with a list of questions which once you answer really improve the result.
