Crazy!!
This cut has to be Tokuda, some of the effects looked like his. Especially the black and white impact frames when Goto was launching his attack!
solo leveling watchers rant
pretty annoyed by people who lack the reading (or in this case watching) comprehension to understand Jin-Woo's character.
They actively dismiss any and all plot or characterization just to justify themselves hating on the show/woo and jumping on the hate train of "zero story, all action" because it's mainstream.
today more often than not i had to read "Jin-woo is such an ass for not saving the captain earlier. he only stepped in after he got body slammed 5 times".
When it's pretty much consistent with his character
1. Jin-Woo is not a shonen goodie 2 shoes who will help just for the sake of it. He has a more realistic approach of "if i help them now, what are the benefits/consequences for me". It's been spelled out in prior episodes how it would be severely disadvantageous and a risk for himself and his family, if his powers came to the surface.
2. He is not in charge of the group and bears no responsibilities over them, in fact, it was pretty much explained last episode that this is the chance for the leader of the group to leave behind a mark and establish himself as the leader of the Guild's B-Squad. And they collectively gave Woo the task to flee.
3. Over the course of the show we have been learning that the system has been making Jin-Woo gradually colder, giving him quests in the beginning just to survive or he'd get sent to some realm to receive punishment, giving him killing requests to dispose of other people when they're hostile of him and so on.
He is getting more and more disconnected from humanity by adapting to the survival of the fittest philosophy the system has integrated into him and those who've not been paying attention to the episodes should pay more notice to that.
I love Solo Leveling for both the story and the action, it's a simple concept executed really well (up until a certain point imo) and just a bit more mature and realistic than your average jump show.
That's why, if you apply your idealistic shonen jump metrics to the show you'll just inevitably end up hating it by fault of your own lack of adaptability
