@billcoolidge Polylactic acid, a corn-based plastic. We use it for things like our 3D Printer filament. It's referred to as compostable plastic, however, we cannot place them in the compost because there is no market here for compost containing such plastics.

Is there some sort of mandate that all single use paper cups in the USA have to be coated with PLA? NZ, Australia, UK all have apparently good commercial options for nice, totally plastic-free home compostable cups. Does that even exist in the US?

@billcoolidge @kentphotos It's amazing how much difference a few miles makes. Healdsburg was ridiculous when I was heading home! Lightning, rain, sleet all at once. I was amazed at the dry pavement in SR.

@outseide I really like that app, too! I've had it since maybe 2010 or so and now we have a pretty excellent store of recipes. I like that it syncs well cross-platform since sometimes I will pull it up on a phone, a tablet, or a laptop.

@outseide @jseattle It took a while (a couple years with extended horrible air periods) for us to develop thresholds and procedures down here. It also took that long to get caught up with air handling systems that could help create a safer space inside. Hopefully our work will help others.
