I’m so glad that the Bible includes stories of people just like me! God is not afraid of people that question the status quo, who have doubts and learn by making mistakes.
@siguem For example, when we don’t fit the norm, or when we ask difficult questions or have legit doubts. If we don’t comply, we are sent into a guilt trip: we are breaking the unity of the church, etc.
It makes us having to choose between conforming or accepting oneselves.
I’ve learned that when you’re raised in a religious environment that uses guilt to submit into obedience, lack of self acceptance is an unfortunate byproduct.
