It's possible Konami (allegedly) didn't commision Born from a Wish remake because they instead decided to bring back the cancelled SH5 game (which was connected to SH2) as mentioned in this leak from before SH2R was revealed.
SH5's protagonist was going to be someone mentioned in Brookhaven's notes in SH2.. Didn't *someone* leave a note for James saying he saw a monster and that he fled?
The game was cancelled several times over the past 20+ years, mostly due to how shocking the story was.
Keep in mind that plans can change anytime and nothing is for certain, but I thought I'd share this with other people who might be interested.

Rumours🚨 silent hill next project

Konami was planning to release Silent Hill 1 Remake and Silent Hill 3 Remake. The SH1 Remake was announced last year with the Bloober Team studio at the helm, and the SH3 Remake project is still in development.

Konami wishes producing Silent Hill 5, but we don't know the team or any other information.

Can't wait for Konami's next comm to clear this up.

Silent Hill 1 Remake is currently scheduled for 2027 (1 opus per year, proposed by producer Motoi Okamoto), so 2028 to focus, if the rumors are true, towards SH5. The remake of 3, I see it for 2029/2030.
