🇮🇷 Al Jazeera says this is the largest funeral procession in human history, with more than 10 million people estimated to have shown up in Tehran to pay respects to the late Supreme Leader.

Iranian state media estimates that more than 20 million people will participate in the ceremonies that will take place over multiple days in Iran and Iraq.

The second biggest funeral procession in history occurred in 1989 in Tehran over the death of Iran's first Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini.

If there's one thing Iranians can do well, it's organizing an unforgettable funeral.

Hurr ibn Yazid al-Riyahi’s Last-Moment Repentance to Allah (SWT).

Before Ashura, when Hurr saw Yazid’s (LA) army preparing to wage war against the beloved grandson of the Prophet, Imam al-Hussain (AS), he realised that he was standing on the wrong side of the battle.

Overwhelmed with deep grief and remorse, Hurr turned towards the camp of Imam Hussain (AS). He inverted his shield, placed his hands upon his head, and said:

"O Allah, I turn to You in repentance for what I have done against Your Wali and the son of Your Prophet's daughter."
Arriving at the camp, he lowered himself in shame and said he was the one who had blocked the Imam's path. He asked if repentance was still possible.

Imam Husayn (a) replied:

"Yes, Allah accepts repentance."

With permission, Hurr went to the battlefield and fought bravely, striking down many of the enemy before being martyred.

When his body was brought back, Imam Husayn (a) wiped the blood from his face and said:

"Your mother was right to name you Hurr-free. You are free in this world and the hereafter."

Just imagine: if Hurr, despite committing such a grave sin by intercepting Imam Hussain’s (AS) caravan and forcing the Imam and his family toward the isolated land of Karbala, still placed immense hope in Allah’s (SWT) mercy, then a believer should never lose hope in Allah’s (SWT) forgiveness.

Allah (SWT) is the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful. For a believer, it is never too late to sincerely repent, for the door of tawbah remains open.
