D’Angelo‘s music is inherently sensual, but his deep reverence for intimacy beyond physical connection is apparent. That’s so special & rare these days.
2010s nostalgia is in full swing this week: panic’s live in Denver album is *finally* on streaming platforms (after watching the performance on YouTube for many years), now the nbhd is releasing a new album soon?????
Preteen Alia dreamt of days like these :)
the sound of d’angelo’s brown sugar album is what pushed j dilla to evolve from being pete rock-inspired into his eventual signature futuristic sound
this is an unreleased instrumental from the late 1994 brown sugar sessions where you can clearly hear dilla’s early fingerprints

@mimitheblogger It was also a dream of mine to see him in his glory too…so glad that he’s at peace though, despite leaving this world so young <3
All 3 albums will always be a part of the soundtrack of my life
So so sad to hear that D’Angelo passed away. Voodoo will always be one of my top 10 albums of all time, it comforted me a lot during my years at university, especially Send It On.
May he rest in peace 🫂
