Media regulator Ofcom's annual survey of UK TV news channels found a slump in how trusted BBC News is, as it came joint last for impartiality, below Channel 4, and was behind GB News and Sky News on every metric.

Language guidance in a Surrey Council reported @Telegraph

‘The pronouns “he” and “she” are non-inclusive and make people uncomfortable, a council has said.

Spelthorne borough council, in Surrey, has updated its inclusive language and communication guide to advise against using them.
The council, run by a Liberal Democrat coalition, has instead asked staff to use them/they.’

‘Teenage girls in Dorset have been introduced to non-binary identities during a Girlguiding meeting, The Telegraph has learnt.

Here for info for @BBCRadio4 is the sex of the shooter reported back in February; from a journalistic outlet that covers stories about trans-identified people. Again, overwhelmingly, males. The identity of the Tumbler Ridge shooter can now be confirmed as Jesse “Jess” Strang.

Strang is a biological male who started to “identify” as a "girl" around 2023.

Strang was raised in a family that valued hunting, and began learning how to shoot rifles when he was just a child. Many guns were kept in the family's residence.

Facebook posts from his mother indicate he may have struggled with behavioral issues, including violent tendencies, from a very young age.

Strang fatally shot 10 people prior to taking his own life.

‘Prolonged engagement with violent ideation’ says a contributor to @BBCRadio4 ‘The World Tonight’, describing the Tumbler Ridge shooters’ online interaction with an AI chat.

Mass shootings are overwhelmingly a crime perpetrated by men.

Yet the presenter repeatedly uses female pronouns for the shooter, even though the shooter was in fact a young man.

This matters; if male crimes are logged and misreported as if committed by women, this impacts the gathering of accurate crime statistics, appropriate intervention, and fails to address the ongoing problem of male violence.

And had ChatGPT known the shooter was male, perhaps they might have taken his ‘violent ideation’ more seriously?

Surprise - it’s not women.
