I noticed it got super dumb with me with the default settings of gpt-5 in cursor where previously, although it didn’t make todo lists, it was doing a killer job. I completed my app which had failed in numerous attempts in Opus/Sonnet.

GPT-5 mode really sucks in cursor now in my experience (C codebase, math intensive). Like you I found GPT-HIGH helps, but it has lost a lot, so something is going on!

@theo Definitely can confirm GPT5 giving me much better results with a complex math and crypto based project in C than Opus 4.1 or 4 and Sonnet. I’m using it in Cursor

@theo My project in C using complicated math has failed about 6 times in Opus both 4 and 4.1 but GPT5 is handling it like a champ. So far at least. I’m switching
