Proud to say that in nearly 20 years of BA Journalism at USW we have trained a large number of young working class people, many of whom are now making their mark in the industry. @BJTC_UK https://t.co/N8XAamoT7A
Our event for students tomorrow also open to students on journalism & media courses from @Journo_USW@PhotoJ_USW@cardiffmet - we need your names in advance, so DM me asap if you'd like to go.

Last day ever of BA Journalism teaching - newsday vivas. So touched to hear from students how the course has made them more confident, shown them strengths they never knew they had, and, from an international student, how it's changed his life. @BJTC_UK
@Journo_USW@BJTC_UK Really sad to hear this news. I graduated in 2016, they were some of the best years of my life and what I learnt there has helped me since both creatively and in terms of research skills that I used for the walking tours.
Another chance to say how big a loss this is.
But as @Fitzyboy mentions in the replies, the course’s legacy “is how many of your journalists we see, hear and read in our homes every day.”
Spot on 👏
A bittersweet moment. My last day in university. Thank you to our incredible lecturers. I wouldn’t be where I am as a journalist today without them, I have learnt so much and improved massively since the first year. It was a pleasure to spend years working with lovely course mates as well. @Journo_USW it has been incredible.
Enjoyed voice training the final BA @Journo_USW students before the course closes after nearly 20 years. Despite inevitable mixed emotions they smashed it. I live for those eureka moments💡🎙️📻. No doubt our paths will cross again soon! Best wishes to @beccy066 & @cihooper ⭐️ 🙏
Last ever newsday after nearly 20 years. So many achievements – stories in national newspapers, war reporting, uncovering injustices, and numerous awards. Amazing students and always lovely to follow our graduates in their careers. RIP BA Journalism – we’ll miss you. @BJTC_UK
Pro-Palestinian protest outside the Senedd today. Protesters are asking for Vaughan Gething to call an immediate ceasefire as he is sworn in as Wales’ New First Minister. @Journo_USW
Delyth Jewell MS on the links between African nations and Wales.
She said: “The links between our nations are not one sided, we in Wales are so enriched by those links and hopefully they remain for many years.”
