The Heat are now hard capped to the first apron by using the 125 percent expanded trade exception for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
They have $18.1 million in first apron space to fill 4 roster spots.
They can create more space by trading Nikola Jovic or if Andrew Wiggins opts out.
So glad we publicly begged for GA to demand Miami only. Because that wasn't embarrassing, may not have pissed some people off, and certainly has always worked in the past.
@5ReasonsSports@PrizePicks 100% Heat, need the assets to go to war in an asset heavy NBA. The CBA change was not kind to Miami Heat FO and their old ways of building or asset management. They need to prove to fans they can build in the new CBA.
@ColdBwoyy@TheDivisionGame Cheating is still a thing, and PVE version of it with nerfed gear is basically the sell nobody wanted. Had they made PVE with PVE rated gear, things might be different, the fact you have to spam the dark zone for the seasonal modifiers to stay active is no no.
@iBeFrankyG You would think Atlanta would have waited for this until the shoe drops on the bigger trades, like Giannis, but also quick thinking on their part, cause he was going to be chased by Miami if we landed Giannis.
@TermineRadio I mean, theres only 3 all NBA teams, with each having 5 players in it, so essentially Top 15 players get in. Bam has never made a top 15 NBA player list so that makes sense, hes generally between 20-25 on the list most years. But hes been All Defense teams, and top 3 DPOY finalis
@flasportsbuzz what about the part that Giannis doesn't want to resign, the 4th hypothetical is Portland willing to send all those assets with a chance to convince Giannis as he does his interview rounds in the following offseason.
@wcgoldberg Its not revisionist History, what an awful take from you and I am fan. It didn't work because there's things more important than stats, eFG, points or assist, its health. There were already concerns there with that, When Giannis & Lillard played together they won at a 70% rate.
@tankRaddi09@TheHerd@colincowherd They said the same thing about Jimmy, yet 3 ECF, and 2 Finals later says otherwise, they never got Jimmy his #2 because Miami was low on asset accumulation and Bam wasn't as good as he is today. Giannis is better than Jimmy ever was, and Bam is better today.
I really wonder where the disconnect is between all impact stats for Wiggins vs the general fan view on him
He never really been a positive impact player offensively, EVEN with the Warriors with arguably the best offensive player
He's also a horrible creation player outside of being able to "somewhat" punish smaller guards in the post but even that is average at best. One of the worst tunnel vision players that also stops the ball more than I count. Doesn't make decisions quickly, kills advantages, loose handle.
His elite rim finishing with the Warriors where he shot in the 70s dropped to around average. His transition numbers are at best borderline above average. He's not a high 3pt volume guy, only capitalising on hitting wide open shots but doesn't provide much spacing. Doesn't draw fouls either. The one pretty good thing he does is crash the glass very well
His defensive impact was elite few years ago but that has significantly dropped in the last 3 years. Teams have done better on defense without him on the court. Still a positive 100% but nowhere near what he was then and that drop means a lot more when the offense doesn't make up for it
@GregSylvander@daaaavveeee Do you think the FO is slightly a bit responsible for this in how they approach building a team and the cards they show the fans of what they are willing to do moving forward?
