Strengthening regional safety: @CALFIRESANDIEGO announced a C-130H airtanker that will be stationed in Ramona and can quickly deliver large loads of fire retardant during major wildfire emergencies. It is as part of the state’s expanding airtanker fleet. https://t.co/FlERqLVAko
Thank you to the community of Ramona for showing up and asking Caltrans important questions on the future of the SR 67 and Mussey Grade intersection. Safety is the primary consideration both for wildfire evacuation and daily travel. #maxsonforsupervisor2028

WANT TO SELL OR BUY AN ADU? Unincorporated Area ADUs have new rules coming. From the County of San Diego:
On March 4, 2026, the County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to adopt an amendment to update the ADU Ordinance and implement Assembly Bill (AB) 1033, which allows for the separate sale of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) in unincorporated communities through a condominium conversion process.
The County’s implementation of AB 1033 will go into effect on April 4, 2026. County staff are currently developing guidance materials and an application checklist to assist property owners and applicants in navigating the application process.
During the hearing, the Board also directed staff to return within 120 days with potential policy options, specific to the separate sale of ADUs, that could support opportunities for first-time homebuyers and provide existing tenants in ADUs the first opportunity to purchase the unit.
In response to this Board direction, staff will develop new options for the Board’s consideration. Prior to returning to the Board, these options will be released for public disclosure, and staff will host a public webinar later this spring to provide an overview and receive feedback. Options may be further refined based on public engagement.
Additional information about the webinar and opportunities to provide input will be shared with the public in the coming months.
For more information about the County’s ADU program, resources, and application requirements, please visit the ADU Ordinance Amendment project webpage: ADU Zoning Ordinance Amendment

As a candidate to be your next County Supervisor for District 2 - I agree with Supervisor Desmond's analysis 100%. With the current revenue plan our children and grandchildren will be inheriting the County's debt.

Sales taxes. Payroll taxes. Transfer taxes.
Utility hikes. Parking fees. Trash fees.
And even more taxes being drafted behind closed doors.
This is what San Diegans are facing — all at once.
Today, I stood with local mayors, community leaders, and small business owners to say enough is enough. While government budgets are at record highs, families and small businesses are being crushed by the rising cost of living.
This isn’t a revenue problem.
It’s a cost-of-living crisis.
That’s why I’m bringing a Board item forward to pause new taxes and fees and demand accountability before asking San Diegans to pay another dollar.
