Most importantly, Hanguk #hiphop is based on the concept of "buran" as Myoung-Sun Song states in her book "Hanguk Hip-Hop: Global Rap in South Korea". Buran is characterized by social anxiety and uncertainty that is present in the Korean culture and thus in Hanguk hip hop.

Korean #hiphop a.k.a. Hanguk Hip Hop is a subgenre of Korean popular music that emerged in 1980's and early 1990's and was heavily influenced by African-American hip-hop in it's early stages.

I don't know about comics but in my opinion, #manga in general is nowadays gaining much more respect and acknowledgement than people think. What critics have to say is not important because it isn't relevant. The rising recognition of manga among fans worldwide speaks for itself
