My time in the PCA taught me that most of the younger men in their churches willingly follow Wilson, while most of the older men publicly denounce him, while espousing his same teachings.
It seems more important to protect the PCA from women, than protect women from the PCA.

My experience is that many in the PCA like/read/listen to Doug Wilson. The days of Doug being considered “fringe” are over. They have joined forces against a common enemy - woman.

Sadly, my former session stayed in executive session the whole time rather than allow a member in good standing observe. Could it be because of my gender? Possibly? More than likely it's because I was the first to be brave enough to test if transparency was real. (It wasn't.)

Doug Wilson says the next logical step out loud. While most evangelicals would say he goes too far, Doug has found a lot of sympathizers in the conservative evangelical church. The evangelical church believes a lot of the same things as the CREC, but has better manners.

@JennMGreenberg The CNN clip, while it was what it was, displayed some views that aren’t uncommon for other conservative evangelicals (i.e. male-only elders). But don’t be fooled that means the CREC’s theology and polity is merely a cousin to other Calvinists. There are canyons betwixt.

To claim ordaining women is “slipping into liberalism,” is to miss how the church stopped ordaining women because it slipped into patriarchy.
