Lake Ontario gets its name from an Indigenous Iroquoian or Huron-Wyandot word—such as Ontarí:io—which translates to "great lake", "beautiful lake", or "lake of shining waters." And I respect that!!!!!

FYI-for anyone that needs to know- I STILL live on the shores of LAKE ONTARIO and it will remain Lake Ontario to ME and BILLIONS of others! Our world (or better yet-our America) is just getting crazier and crazier. Come on people! Let’s do better!
