Olivia Rodrigo speaks out on criticism for wearing babydoll dresses during Popcast interview:
โWhatโs really, like, disturbing is I feel like I have worn outfits that are revealing on stage. Like Iโve been on stage in like a sparkly bra, little shorts, which is my right. Thatโs fun. I felt cool and comfortable in that. And like that wasnโt โinappropriateโ โ but me, like, fully covered up in a dress that people deem to be, like, childlike was inappropriate. And I just think it just like shows how we really normalize pedophilia in our culture. And also itโs just this rhetoric that weโre fed as girls since weโre so little, which is like, โDonโt wear that because then a man is going to sexualize your body and itโs your fault.โ Like itโs so weird. And I didnโt think I looked sexy in that at all โ I was like โThis is so cool. I feel like I look like Kathleen Hanna or Courtney Love.โ All these people who are my heroes.โ
