Firefighters from 14 UK fire & rescue services are on their way to the Republic of Türkiye to carry out search & rescue operations. The 77-strong International Search & Rescue team provides specialist support where it is needed most. Search & rescue dogs have also been deployed.
I’m delighted the 'Leading the Service' and 'Leading and Developing People' standards have launched. They set expectations for fire services in leading its people and putting ethics and culture at the heart of its response, while delivering the best possible public service.
Watch the latest @BBCNewsnight with NFCC’s Dan Daly on modern methods of construction (MMC). The aim to build homes quickly and sustainably must not be at the expense of safety. We call for the rules on testing of MMC to be tightened (from 26:30mins). https://t.co/Q1UfVhWVhi

Don't forget the clocks go back this weekend; research shows RTCs increase by 19 per cent in the fortnight following the change. It is important to take additional care on the roads - and remember children may be less visible. Take some time to carry out vehicle winter checks.
If you are organising a back garden private party, please follow the Firework Code. Store fireworks in a closed metal box & follow the instructions on the label before lighting! Keep children and pets away from fireworks. Find more safety advice here: https://t.co/r0KELfv266
