here are sites where you can find grants for your idea, project, or NGO

- go to LinkedIn
- enter your job title “digital marketing”, “data analyst”, “virtual assistant”, just play with different keywords

- click enter and filter to “jobs”
- set location (you can also add the location to your search)

Now, this is where it gets interesting. There are two categories of jobs on LinkedIn. The one posted directly on LinkedIn by companies (which can be applied to using easy apply) and one sourced by LinkedIn from external sources (mostly reroute you to company website or job aggregator platforms). Don’t apply through easy apply except you have an optimized LinkedIn profile that fits the job. What LinkedIn does is to save your profile as a pdf and use it as your resume

Now this is what I do
- instead of applying directly, I click on the job, scroll down to see who posted it, and send a connection request to the person. I also extend this request to two senior employees of the company (most times I just go after C-suite)
- the first thing they will do when they see your request is to check your profile. This is why an optimized LinkedIn profile is important because it makes it easier to know who you are and the values you can bring to their team
- they will surely accept your invitation if there’s an alignment. That gives you an opportunity to shoot your shot. What I do is to send something like “hi akin, I am wondering if you or anyone you know is in the market looking for an experienced content manager (if the job is content management)”.

Sure they will say you should apply through the link but what you have just done is to establish a first contact. To show high agency, I often take it further by saying something like “As agritech leaders seek to strengthen their online presence through long-form thought leadership content, I wonder if this is part of ABc content plan in Q4”. Majority of them will be interested in learning more about your view

Alternatively, just switch from “jobs” to “post” on LinkedIn search, set your location and hit the search button
