Sad to hear @jonburkeUK is leaving #Hackney. Have felt the benefits of his work with our greened streets, #LTN and #schoolstreet. Also impressed by the example he ensured Hackney sets for other LA’s - we need bold action to meet climate challenges. Best of luck with whatever next
Now we are in tier 3 once again, let's get the message out that we are a safer and cleaner form of transport, whether it be public or private hire taxi/car.
It's also great fun to ride alongside a household companion or a bubble bae when on an adventure with us 👫

5pm and the traffic in #Tooting is still back to back. You remove the #LTNs from #Wandsworth and you get traffic displacement and lots of it, still @OWandsworth
New controlled before-&-after study of Dulwich modal filters (inc use of https://t.co/JLsdHlPeha!). Intervention street saw approx. doubling in cycling while little change in control street. Also 'far more children on bicycles' in filtered street. Report: https://t.co/UA6abkG8ab
Over the last decade, global SUV ownership has doubled. If it keeps growing at its current rate, increased SUV ownership will offset the entire emissions reduction from electric vehicles. Plus they’re much more likely than smaller cars to kill pedestrians.

@delgueg@jennyeclair Not social cycling - you said that not me! I said Safe cycle routes for everyone to use including families and children. Emergency cycle routes in a national crisis - because too many jumping in their polluting cars to avoid public transport
@delgueg@jennyeclair We need safe routes. It’s well known that people are put off cycling through fear - with good reason. Families and children want to stop using polluting vehicles. If you don’t agree they need safe routes to do so well... let’s just say we disagree.
@ShimanoSteve@RuthMayorcas@jennyeclair Do you think the only people using filtered streets are the ones who live on them?? You do realise filtered streets are safe routes for everyone don’t you? That is everyone who prefers to travel without creating pollution
The Mayor's potential £3.50 charge for driving into London is a step towards smart road-user charging, a key recommendation from our #ClimateSafeStreets report to cut carbon emissions on London's roads to zero by 2030.

@jennyeclair The problem is that it will just fill up everywhere again because of more cars on the roads due to covid. At least a few safe routes have been created for people to get from ‘a’ to ‘b’ on foot or cycling - or scooting / wheelchair etc
@ShimanoSteve@hackloon@jennyeclair So thank goodness for the LTN right? I find it a total relief / sanctuary when cycling. Without LTN it would be gridlock everywhere - despite wfh. Too many cars. https://t.co/HKiv0V4g2c
@FranklinsSE22@personasasa@jennyeclair Bear in mind car journeys up due public transport down - and home workers doing short trips too. Easy to blame a Christmas tree in dulwich village but... https://t.co/HKiv0V4g2c
