I wrote this book because I struggle to maintain my joy as an educator. I hope the lessons and reflections inspire you on a journey through your own personal joy work... Love, Dr. Joy. #joyworkedu https://t.co/UkuhhsRVdo

There is an African Proverb, Ubuntu- I am because WE are! It is the recognition of inherent dignity, community, and compassion…
For the past 72 hours, I shared space with a community of loving, kind, intelligent, driven, wise, courageous, resilient, did I say intelligent, women where we shared our stories of resilience, compassion, and brilliance. I have been to hundreds of conferences but there have only been a few that I walked away informed, empowered and with an expanded community of love! To my BWEL sisters, my heart is overflowing. To Trelane Clark Dr. Shonda Matia Harris-Muhammed Latrese Younger, Ed.D. and the BWEL Special Events committee, your leadership is unwavering and inspiring…. Y'all did that!!! In December, I sought to join, by January I was serving, and after this weekend, I am planting and soiling alongside of my sisters to harvest more fruit and blessings for our community.
