A note about the photo I chose for today: For me, Terry Fox embodies modern Canadian heroism. Resilience, humility, and collective action. His run (over 5,300 km on one leg before cancer returned) raised awareness and funds for cancer research and inspired the annual Terry Fox Run, which has generated hundreds of millions globally. It celebrates individual determination in service of the greater good, a distinctly Canadian blend of grit and compassion. I’d like to see him back in my passport.

That is exactly the problem, Premier. You are not at the table because you refuse to show up. While Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba work together to build pipelines, create jobs, and strengthen our shared economy, your government keeps its head in the sand and puts ideology ahead of British Columbians.

Provinces like Manitoba have shown what is possible. They have taken the 7% sales tax off food and cut gas taxes to make life more affordable for families. Albertans are not our adversaries. They are our natural partners. A strong Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba help build a stronger British Columbia.

Σήμερα επισκέφθηκα επίσης το Καραμανδάνειο Παιδιατρικό Νοσοκομείο για να επιθεωρήσω τα πολλά έργα που ολοκληρώνουμε εκεί. Πριν λίγα χρόνια οι λαϊκιστές ξεσήκωναν τον κόσμο της Αχαΐας ότι δήθεν θα το κλείναμε και αντί για αυτό το κάνουμε μεγαλύτερο και καινούργιο. Επίσης προήδρευσα σε σύσκεψη για το πρόβλημα που έχει με το Ακτινολογικό του τμήμα και την έλλειψη προσωπικού.
Μετά πήγα στο ΓΝ «ο Άγιος Ανδρέας» για να επιθεωρήσω το έργο του Φαρμακείου και για να δω τι θα κάνουμε για να ανεβάσουμε την απόδοση του τμήματος της Ακτινοθεραπείας. Αν και αγοράσαμε σε χρόνο ρεκόρ νέο γραμμικό επιταχυντή και προσλάβαμε όλο το προσωπικό που μας ζητήθηκε εν τούτοις η αναμονή παραμένει μεγάλη. Ακούσαμε διάφορες προτάσεις θα χρειαστεί να εργαστούμε περισσότερο για να μην καθυστερούμε. Ζήτησα και από το Ρίο να βοηθήσει έως ότου βρούμε τον ρυθμό μας εκεί.
Τέλος πήγαμε στο Κέντρο Υγείας βορείου τομέα Πατρών «ο Άγιος Αλέξιος» το οποίο ανακαινίσαμε πλήρως, εξοπλίσαμε με νέα μηχανήματα και προσθέσαμε προσωπικό ώστε πρακτικά εκεί να μήν υπάρχει αναμονή και να ελαφρύνουμε τα επείγοντα των Νοσοκομείων
