My deep condolences to victims of war with Russia in 2008. Our strong support for 🇬🇪's sovereignty, territorial integrity and peaceful resolution of the conflict. As we witness war in 🇺🇦 🇯🇵 will continue to work together with 🇬🇪 in strengthening rule-base international order.

I thank the Speaker Mr Papuashvili and members of 🇬🇪-🇯🇵 Friendship Group for this joint action. It was also dedicated to 🇺🇦. The trees will be replanted to Garden of First Republic after renovation. They will stand as the symbol of our friendship.

I had a privilege to meet with His Holiness Patriarch Ilya II of All 🇬🇪. His Holiness spoke about the role of 🇯🇵's culture in world civilization. I was deeply touched with his words. He blessed sakura trees we brought for his garden. We planted them with a prayer for peace in 🇺🇦.

33 years ago today I was a young diplomat working at Embassy of 🇯🇵 in Moscow. We were trying to figure out the tragic news coming out from 🇬🇪. I mourn for those who lost their lives as a result of brutal repression while calling for independence.

My assistant and I delivered goods for 🇺🇦 from the staff of Embassy of 🇯🇵 to a collection point in Tbilisi 🇬🇪. Catherine from 🇬🇧 kindly offered her house for temporary storage. We met Aleksandra from 🇺🇦who was stranded in 🇬🇪 because of the war.

After the performance at a theater in Tbilisi🇬🇪. I met a Ukrainian ballet dancer Andreii whose family is in 🇺🇦. He danced superbly despite of hardship. Conveyed 🇯🇵's strong solidarity with people of 🇺🇦 and readiness to receive evacuees from 🇺🇦. #StandWithUkraine️

Today 🇯🇵 adopted a decision to freeze and control the access to the assets of Central Bank of🇷🇺. According to its report as of June 2021 it held 10% of its foreign exchange reserves in Japan. 🇧🇾 and Lukashenko are also added to our sanction list. #StandWithUkraine

🇯🇵 will join other countries in removing certain Russian banks from SWIFT, freezing assets of Vladimir Putin and other officials. Will provide 100 mil USD emergency humanitarian aid to 🇺🇦. Prime Minister KISHIDA announced it this evening #StandWithUkraine

Japan continues to stand alongside #Ukraine. The additional sanctions we announce today include freezing of assets of Russian banks, sanctions on exports of items like semiconductors. We have offered at least 100 million USD loan assistance to #Ukraine.

I express deepest condolences to those who lost their loved ones as a result of collapse of the residential building on October 8 in #Batumi.

It is very painful for me to learn that this accident took lives of many people, including infants and schoolchildren.
